The national Red Ribbon Campaign was created in 1986 to encourage people, young and old, to lead drug-free lives in honor of the sacrifices made by DEA Special Agent Enrique ("Kiki") Camarena and others who have lost their lives to the hands of drug traffickers. Each year more than 300 civic and business leaders, educators, law enforcement, government officials, and youth celebrate the spirit of Red Ribbon week at SDPC's annual Red Ribbon Luncheon. In addition, various honors and awards are given to San Diego County individuals and organizations for their outstanding substance abuse prevention endeavors. Furthermore, Kiki's work and sacrifice is remembered and celebrated. The SDPC's Red Ribbon Luncheon is the only event of its kind held in Southern California.
Please consider partnering with the SDPC with a generous gift to help us generate the resources needed not only to ensure an extraordinary day at the Red Ribbon Luncheon but to also help us support education and prevention programs that help young people grow up to be drug-free. Please submit payment by check to: SDPC 1010 Second Avenue, Suite 1940 San Diego, CA 92101 ATTN: Red Ribbon Luncheon
